Park Ridge Chorale

Park Ridge Chorale was formed in 1984 after alumni from Maine High School held a banquet to honor Irwin Bell, a long-time Maine faculty member, who conducted the choir for two years.  The choir has about 45 members and auditions are held at the beginning of rehearsals for each concert.

The chorale follows a traditional schedule, with a spring concert of classic choral music, summer concert of popular and Broadway songs, and a holiday arrangement in December.  For the last 13 years, the chorale has been directed by Edward Zelnis, who also sang with Music of the Baroque for more than 20 years, has conducted productions at the Goodman and Steppenwolf theaters and at Evanston’s Light Opera Works, and has sung in the choruses of Lyric Opera and Grant Park Symphony.  For the last 25 years, Jane Kenas-Heller has been the chorale’s accompanist and is also the coordinator of the accompanying program at Northeastern Illinois University.  Jane has performed in concerts on the Ruth Page Series at the Ravinia Festival and at the New Dance Festival in Prague, Czech Republic.

Experience for yourself the sound of Park Ridge Chorale at the upcoming concert - you will leave singing or at least humming one of the catchy tunes included in each performance...  For more information, contact us at info@parkridgechorale.com or (847) 650-2876.
